Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC), in partnership with Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw gGmbH), is proud to announce the launch of its Mechatronics Apprenticeship programme, based on the German dual system.
The programme, which has received accreditation from the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), aims to provide students with practical skills and experience in mechatronics, a field that combines electronics, mechanics, and software engineering.
To ensure the success of this initiative, EWC is seeking partnerships with companies that utilize automated systems. The college believes that collaborative efforts between industry and education will drive mutual benefits and success.

"We are excited to launch this programme and provide our students with the skills and experience they need to succeed in the industry," said Ms Ntombizodwa Dangazele, Deputy Principal - Corporate Services, in her welcoming address. "We believe that partnerships with industry leaders are crucial to the success of this programme and we look forward to working together."
"The college aims to place at least 15 apprentices with partner companies in 2025," said Mr Stoltz, Acting Partnerships and Linkages Manager. "Companies that partner with EWC will not only be contributing to the development of skilled professionals but also benefit from having apprentices who can apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting."

A business breakfast was held on February 14, 2025, at the Ekurhuleni West TVET College Germiston Campus, to provide more information about the programme and partnership opportunities. Companies' representatives who attended the event had an opportunity to tour around the Mechatronics and Fitting workshop, giving them a firsthand look at the college's facilities and capabilities.
The event was fully sponsored by Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw gGmbH). As a college, we extend our sincere appreciation to BBW for their contribution to this partnership. Their support is a testament to the value of collaboration between industry and education.
