EWC Hosts Women's Empowerment Symposium

On 25 August 2023, the college hosted a Women's Empowerment Symposium at the Boksburg Campus. The symposium focused on empowering women with knowledge on personal development, financial independence, and legal issues.

The Symposium was aimed at celebrating women’s month and encouraging women to start developing themselves, to instil a culture where women are encouraged to be financially independent and have their own money, as well as being informed about legal issues - most especially on matters of marriage contracts.

The invited speakers addressed the following issues:

• Ms Nthabiseng Maidi, Principal Director of the MMCP Advisors, an entrepreneur, business advisor, and lawyer, gave a talk on personal development and financial independence;
• Ms Palesa Maseko, Founder and Managing Director of PMA Incorporated (Attorneys), gave a talk on Legal issues.

The attendees, who were mainly EWC female staff, were afforded an opportunity to engage with the speakers when the question-and-answer session started.

All the women who attended the symposium were dressed to the nines, in accordance with the event theme of "Sunday Best."

The programme was facilitated by Ms Lizzy Manaka, the college Wellness Officer.
